Set of Six French Majolica Oyster Plates in Fish Form

A charming set of six authentic French Majolica oyster plates, beautifully modeled in the form of a fish and finished in a delicate celadon-green glaze. Each plate features six individually molded oyster wells surrounding a central sauce / lemon compartment. The softly crackled glaze and sculptural fish silhouette embody the playful sophistication for which French majolica became renowned.

Originally produced for serving oysters at grand dinners and festive gatherings, these plates remain among the most sought-after pieces of antique French tableware.
